Judges (in their 4 hours of costs training, provided by a Regional Costs Judge, who sits for 50 days a year on costs issues), have been instructed not to rule on the issue of hourly rates when amending/approving budgets.
What utter tosh. The hourly rate is the main ingredient of any budget. Rate x time = base profit cost.
The hourly rate is perhaps, the most misunderstood and misjudged costs issue.
I would urge anyone who has a CMC listed where a budget is due to be advocated and ruled on, to seek professional help. A therapist – perhaps. A costs specialist, definitely. Otherwise you might need an anger management specialist on speed dial.
