We have developed with Eclipse Legal Systems our own case management system using their Proclaim software. This system enables us to handle all our cases expediently and efficiently while providing up to date management reports direct to our clients. Our clients that are also equipped with a case management system are able to securely transfer their files to us electronically.
Leading the practice is its founder and Managing Director, Paul Shenton LLB (Hons) LLM (Cantab). Paul is a qualified as both a barrister and a solicitor. He joined Eversheds in 1992, where he was made a partner in 1997. He established and developed their national costs team to a turnover of approximately £2 million per annum. Paul has been involved in many high profile cases, the most notable of these being :
Joanna has spent 10 years as a costs draftswoman, until recently employed as the Deputy Manager at the Head Office of a national firm of costs draftsman. She obtained the industry’s professional qualification of Associate of the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen in October 2000, qualifying as a Fellow in January 2003.
Joanna is responsible for the day to day management of the team of costs draftsmen and negotiators and provides training and advice to both staff and clients on technical issues.
She is also currently in her fourth year of studies for the LLB at Nottingham Law School.
Robert Morris F.Inst.L.Ex
Operations Manager
Robert has spent 18 years in the legal field and is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives . Until recently he was employed as an Associate and Manager with a Manchester based Law Firm and has a wealth of experience in the conduct of civil litigation issues, practice management and business development.
Robert has been and continues to be key to the implementation and on-going development of Just Costs case management system, office procedures, recruitment and advertising.
Mark Hartigan BSc (Hons)
Client Services Manager
Mark has been involved in Sales and Marketing for over 16 years, the last 12 years in the IT industry.
Mark spent 4 years at Origin (which later became ATOS KPMG – Europe ’s third largest IT services firm) where he specialised on large multi million pound outsourcing deals in the Pharmaceutical and Process Industry – this often involved TUPE transfer of staff.
Whilst at Origin, Mark held both National Account and European Account Management roles.
Mark has also worked for Unisys focusing on the Financial Services market.
For the last 4 years Mark was Sales Director at a technology company which focused on selling imaging, workflow and document management solutions into the retail banking, insurance and legal market place.
Major clients included: Barclays, HBOS, Prudential, RSA, DLA, Allen and Overy, and Hammonds Direct.
Mark had responsibility for management of a sales force of 6 people, sales forecasting and supplier and customer relations.
When Mark joined the company turnover was £1million; when Mark left, staff levels were 55, turnover was £3.6million and the company was one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK .
Shirley Rothel Finance Manager
Shirley has spent 23 years in legal accounts, until recently employed as Financial Risk Manager at a large City based Law Firm. Her experience covers all aspects of legal accounts; client management information and procedures and risk management. During the last four years she has specialised on specific risk management issues including Treasury Finance; procurement within Facilities and IT; salary control and audits of overseas branches.
Shirley is responsible for the day to day running of the Finance Department, credit and revenue control, salaries and process and procedure reviews with the view to improving internal financial controls to enable growth with the business development.
