Corporate Social Responsibility

As a big part of our CSR initiatives, each year Just Costs Solicitors identify a charity for the firm to support through our charity committee, headed by Shirley Rothel, Just Costs’ Senior Associate and Financial Manager.

Following the firm wide decision that 2012 would see Just Costs supporting Children’s charities at local level; each region has now decided where to pledge their support in the aim to raise an overall £12,000.

The charities for 2012 are:

NORTH REGION

CAFT—Children's Adventure Farm Trust

CAFT - Children's Adventure Farm Trust

Based within 10 acres of Cheshire countryside CAFT is a haven for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children their aim is to provide special holidays for special children and their carers who visit the farm for a free weeklong holiday. They also offer day trips for special schools as well as Christmas parties and fun days.

 

LONDON

The Children's Trust Tadworth

The Children's Trust

 

The Children’s Trust is a national charity working with children who have multiple disabilities and complex health needs. Based at a 24 acre site in Tadworth, Surrey but offering services to children from across the UK.

Haven House Hospice

Haven House

Haven House is a special place for special children, caring for children and young people between the ages of 0 to 19 who have life-limiting conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood. They help families by providing a range of services that include day, short break and end of life care, together with therapeutic play in the community.

 

EASTERN REGION

Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal

Leeds Children's Hospital Appeal

Affectionately referred to as ―Jimmy's‖, the building is generally regarded as ―Europe’s largest teaching hospital‖ has a world -renowned reputation as a centre for medical research and education. Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust have created a new Children’s Hospital on the Leeds General Infirmary site. The move will solve the issue of seriously ill youngsters having to be transferred across the city for treatment. The Leeds children’s services are second in size only to those at Great Ormond Street.

• specialist medical equipment
• research into the prevention and cure of childhood illness
• new facilities to extend the range of treatment provided
• improvements to the hospital environment that benefit patients, families, visitors and staff
