Just Costs Solicitors - Social Responsibility.

As a big part of our CSR initiatives, each year Just Costs Solicitors identify a charity (or two) for the firm to support through our charity committee, headed by Shirley Rothel, Just Costs’ Financial Manager.

Our chosen charities for 2008 are the NSPCC and Cash for Kids

Paul Shenton, our Managing Director has kindly offered to match all donations made to our charities, up to a value of £200 per month. This will surely help us towards our target of raising a minimum of £2000 between January and December 2008!

Our recent and forthcoming fundraising activities by Just Costs Solicitors include:

• We have joined forces with Cash for Kids to support their Toy Appeal 2008. This appeal donates Christmas presents to underprivileged children in the Greater Manchester region who would otherwise receive nothing on Christmas day.
  If you would also like to get involved please donate an inexpensive gift suitable for a boy or a girl, aged between 0-18 and drop it into the Just Costs office in Manchester or visit the website www.key103.co.uk/toyappeal for other collection points throughout the region. • Our annual charity golf day was a great success and raised over £500 for our charities, thanks to registration fees, raffles and donations.
• Just Costs Managing Director, Paul Shenton, completed the 2008 Great Manchester run on May 18th in aid of the NSPCC. Paul ran the 10k course in 55 minutes and 45 seconds. For sponsorship information please go to www.justgiving.com/paulshenton or contact 0161 435 6558
• Jonathan Thatcher ran the Great North Run in aid of Cash for Kids, beating his previous time by over 30 minutes by completing the run in 1 Hour, 57 minutes and 53 seconds. Jonathan has currently raised over £350 and monies are still coming in.
• A successful ‘Virgin Vie’ party, held at our offices in December, which raised almost £150.
• We ask all our staff to contribute a fee for ‘casual Fridays’ on the first Friday of every month, which raises an average of £300 a year
• A Christmas ‘pub quiz’ in the office, with all proceeds going to our charities thanks to prizes being kindly donated by Frank, Just Costs Solicitors’ driver.
• An Easter ‘pub quiz’ held in our Manchester head office.

We hope to organise at least one event every quarter to raise money for our charities. We appreciate the assistance of all our staff and partners in helping us to smash our fundraising targets!
